Description

Denver Bicycle Lobby and the Community For Belonging at Regis University are organizing a screening of filmmaker Ben Wolf's documentary "Changing Lanes" to Denver - July 31st, 6pm. Regis University. Claver Hall Room 315. Join for a screening of Changing Lanes, a powerful documentary that follows one community’s fight to reclaim a dangerous street in Brooklyn and speaks to the broader struggle for safer, more just streets everywhere. This follows the fight for McGuinness Boulevard in Brooklyn, but parralells the fight Denver had for a safer Alameda, including but not limited to NIMBY pushback and wealthy corruption. I particularly enjoyed the interviews with David Byrne and ex-NYC transit directors including Janet Sadik-Khan. After the film, stay for a conversation with filmmaker Ben Wolf, moderated by Jill Locantore, Executive Director of Denver Streets Partnership, featuring Bree Davies, host of City Cast Denver, Dr. Wes Marshall, Professor of Civil Engineering at CU Denver, and Mike King, Transportation Safety Specialist. The event is free but please RSVP if you plan to attend so we know how many are coming!
