Description

Sunday Funday Holiday Hoopla 2025 Join us lazy riding elves on Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at 6:00pm for a holiday lights bike ride! I've crafted a super chill route (pace = lazy enough to take in all of the lights and pause to snap pics along the way) to touch a great deal of the city's holiday lights Downtown, and plan to finish the route with a spot near Auraria Campus to watch the nightly holiday drone show. After the drone show, we'll choose a spot to grab a drink nearby and warm up after what will likely be a freezingly, fabulously fun ride. If you're not able to join, here's the details: Start at Congress Park (an alternative starting place is near Madison/12th and check out the homes on Madison between 11th and 12th, and then make your way to the Gardens) and head West on 9th alongside the Botanic Gardens and into Cheesman park, head along the North side of the park and exit on the West side at 12th. Take 12th to Sherman and make a right on Sherman, make a loop around the Capitol building (and pause to look at the City and County building all lit up from afar). Head back on Sherman to meet up with 13th and take the bike lane on 13th to Bannock and make a right and ride alongside the City and County building up close and personal. Make your way to near the fountain and make a cute little loop around that, just for fun, and cross Colfax there near 15th and take Cleveland to 16th Street. Take 16th Street all the way Arapahoe and cut over to 18th. Take 18th to Wynkoop and enjoy the lights at Union Station. From here, take 17th back to Larimer, and head right on Larimer (shhhh on the sidewalk for a block) and then sneak through the closed-to-cars Larimer Lights, carefully cross Speer, and turn right on 11th and enjoy the Denver Christkindlmarket and Mile High Tree. Make your way to the 7th Street Parking Garage and ride to the top (or find a spot on the ground floor next to the garage and look up and check out the drone show at 7pm. Be safe, bring lights, bundle up (it will likely be in the low 40s—I'll watch the weather/reschedule if too cold/ snowy), make sure cars and people see you before crossing and HAVE FUN!!
